About Us

Alexis Kovacs, Psy.D.

Dr. Alexis Kovacs, Psy.D., is a developmental neuropsychologist with  20 years of experience working with children and families. She completed specialized post-doctoral training at Children’s Hospital Boston/Harvard Medical School and focuses on comprehensive neuropsychological and developmental evaluations for children ages 1-13.

Dr. Kovacs has extensive expertise in the assessment of autism spectrum disorders, learning disorders (including dyslexia), ADHD, social-emotional concerns such as anxiety and depression, and behavioral and self-regulation challenges. Her evaluations are designed not only to clarify diagnoses, but to provide practical, individualized guidance that can be meaningfully implemented in daily life.

A core aspect of Dr. Kovacs’s approach is her strong emphasis on relationships and collaboration. She takes time to build rapport with each child and family, recognizing that trust, comfort, and understanding are essential for accurate assessment and meaningful outcomes. She works closely with parents, schools, and allied professionals—including educators, therapists, and medical providers—to ensure that recommendations are cohesive, realistic, and aligned across settings.

In addition to her assessment expertise, Dr. Kovacs brings significant experience providing child therapy and working within schools, inpatient units, and residential treatment settings. This hands-on background allows her to thoughtfully tailor recommendations that reflect real-world classroom demands and family routines. Her work is grounded in evidence-based practices shown to support children’s learning, emotional well-being, and long-term development.

Dr. Kovacs has served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School and held staff positions at the Developmental Medicine Center at Children’s Hospital Boston and Boston Neuropsychological Services. She is deeply committed to helping families gain a clear, compassionate understanding of their child’s profile and to identifying strengths, challenges, and supports that promote growth at home, at school, and in the community.

Outside of her professional work, Dr. Kovacs enjoys spending time with her family and three children, playing pickleball, and traveling.
